Default MP5K briefcase listed on Gunbroker

I am not affiliated with this at all, just stumbled on it while in a semi lock down in NOVA. Hope everyone is doing ok, and staying healthy.

so question, if you put a SP5K (or a HK MP5 "pistol" in there, is it considered a NFA item? Curious

My inclination would be to say yes, but I am definitely not a SME when it comes to NFA, so I am sure someone with expert knowledge on NFA will weigh in.

Yes, it would be an AOW (Any Other Weapon), unless you had a transferable sear in it or it was a SBR. Kind of like the old wallet holsters that are AOWs...

You are correct. ATF revised their "rulings" on things like the HK Brief case, wallet holsters, cane guns etc 10+ years ago. Basically said, IIRC correctly, that if the device breaks up the configuration or the firearm...if it doesn't look like a gun! Such as the fairly common wallet holsters. The device must be registered as an AOW. When I inquired about what to use for a serial number, I was told to use the serial number of the weapon that was going to be in the wallet holster or the Brief Case. Other people have made brief cases to carry other weapons over the years. The one for the MAC-10 was one I thought was one of the most interesting one that I have seen.

Negative. The firearm that gets put in the device gets registered as the AOW. The device is not the weapon.
