    Default New Geissele Rails

    https://geissele.com/smr-hk416-mk15-10-5-m-lok.html

MK15 style with fixed pic sections up front and mlok everywhere else. Personally I prefer the older SMR version aesthetically and practically.

I hope they will retain the original style as well, this one is not as appealing to me either.

The original style is just like the old MKI for the AR (best rail ever made IMO). Geissele said they quit making it and the MKII because they took longer and were more expensive to make. Unfortunately, I think the original 416 rail will likely disappear as a regular production item.

The HK/Mk1 inserts for the accessory rails are the labor intensive part. Sadly, I think you're probably correct and a sporadic release (at a higher price point) would be the only time we see new ones...

Looks like this might clear the sling loops without removing them.
Edit* The manual says that the sling loops must be removed.

Now that is a good observation!

It does look that way which leaves me to wonder if it was intentional. Don't the newer 416s have the slimline GB? That wider profile may not be as comfortable as the original rounded/slim profile and I'm trying really hard to like the looks of it..

Internal diameter is listed as the same as the first gen 1.35”.

They could have just spared the world from this abomination and put the man power used here on some 417 rails. Which I hope they don't plan to butcher as well.

Posted some pictures in my post above. This is very similar to the MK4 Federal handguard.
