    They were the owners Social security number. It was common for people to scribe on their ssn in hopes that if the firearm was ever stolen, it could be traced back to them. However, that's now how it worked so alot of firearms were defaced with an ssn

    If that were the case, he could have said that in his ad or at least answered my question. When I see things scratched out with no explanation, makes me suspicious, even more so when you wont answer why...

    I commented on that, actually IMO a good buy with such a low serial. Unfortunately (or fortunately) Keystone got it so rest assured it will end up online as a "museum-quality", "1 of 1", "Hand made rarity" listing. Not totally hating on them either as their marketing phrases and images are excellent but man, a soon to be overpriced item.
