That's the same tripod that came with my 1984 PSG1 It also has a Rail Adapter that slides into rail underneath the hand guard and attaches to top of tripod

Once again, I guess they were way ahead of the times with the t-rail adapter on a tripod

I am uploading some pictures ( If I can make it work) of the tripod that came with my Very early PSG-1 and the rail attachment. Notice the serial # on bottom.
I suspect that these were early production or prototypes.

@HK-93, is it a Weaver Rail attachment?

No it goes into a T Rail on the bottom of the handguard on the PSG-1 much like a "Freeland" or "Anschutz" rail.
The sling also comes with a sling adapter that uses the same T-Rail

    Thanks For your Interest H&K-93

Hmmm.....when I get the chance, I'll have to check. I also have a rail adapter, as well as a Harris Bipod that came with my D-prefix PSG-1, which is a similarly early piece.

H&K-93, thanks much for the photos. I'll follow up and post back to the group....this may be important HK info not previously come to light.I was not aware of any tripod prototype.

Again, I ask, does anybody know of any other European "Sniper Rifle" that had a Garbini tripod as an accessory? Just curious.
