Only HK would have that type of information--- you cannot rely on a test target (though I do not believe that the SR9's came with test targets--- at least I have never seen one)!!!

I contacted HK. It seems like they don't have detailed records but they did tell me that the rifle was shipped/imported in Nov 1990. Under 200 serial number.

I did not know the number imported in 1990--- thanks--- as an FYI, the SR9 initially came with the following furniture: 1) black, HK911, Bell & Carson stock, 2) painted "wood grain" (marketed as the "Orion"), and 3) return to black!!!

    Thanks again Tony.

So lets see if this makes any sense.

Rifle imported by HK on 11/20/1990. 3 digit serial number bellow 200. Marked SR9

    Carrier is II
    Bolt head JA 381.
There is 3Y stamped on the round area where the firing pin goes.
    PSG1 stock 4IJ
    Barrel JA B8
PSG1 trigger group with PSG1 grip. ( other that "X" on one of the parts , I cant find any marking on the PSG1 trigger pack parts.)

Any time--- on the early (KA) SR9 Series (SN under 46-000552), I have seen the following, date-coded parts:

    1. Bolt carrier (II)
    2. Bolt head (JA)
    3. Barrel (JA)
    4. MSG90 stock (IJ)--- SR9T

Above 46-001263 (KA), I have seen the following, date-coded parts:

    1. Bolt carrier (JA)
    2. Bolt head (JA and JC)
    3. Barrel (JA)

Thanks again. The PSG1 trigger pack does not show any markings other than big "X" on the flat of one of the parts.
