    Default What do I have

My father has had this gun for years never took it out, never fired it, and he finally took it out last week. He says that it is an HK91 but that is all that he knows about. I have been trying to do research on it but I keep coming up empty. Does any one know exactly what this gun is and what it is worth? He says that he has the original silicon under barel hand guard somewhere (he couldn't find it when I was over there).

Price checking is not allowed, except for premium members (paid).

You have a 91 clone, built on a Hesse receiver. Might have been a home builder, or an established one. Not evident from pics.

Hesse receivers are not always well-regarded. Century makes c93's on Hesse receivers, for example.

Years ago when I had a crappy Century built on a stainless receiver, the Hesse was regarded as being even worse.

As others have said. It's a HK91 clone and Hesse makes horrible receivers. Not just for HK but for AK, AR and FAL too. So bad that they've chang names several times trying to get rid of their reputation.

I wouldn't take Hesse/Vulcan/Blackthorn if you paid me

    Lol sorry.

I'll call it like it is. I understand his dad owns it. It doesn't mean his dad is somehow at fault. I know if I bought a gun id want to know if I got a turd. I hate when people say.....oh it's a nice gun..... because they think they'll hurt my feelings. My feelings would be hurt if I wasn't told the truth.

    Horrible clone.....

    Not allowed to ask pricing

Had you actually done a search as you said, you wouldn't come up "empty".

My first kit build was on a Hesse receiver. Yes, it took many hours of work(filing, grinding, "tweaking," etc...) to get the FMP parts kit to fit; however, the bolt carrier finally ran smoothly, the sights were aligned, and it shot just fine. The worst part of that rifle was the finish, which was Brownells teflon/moly in a spray can. It was one of my first attempts at refinishing, and the coating was too thick and didn't adhere well. Besides that, it was a decent rifle. If the welds and overall fit of the OP's rifle was done properly, along with internals that aren't all worn out, there's no reason that it couldn't be a good shooter. The steel on the Hesses was advertised as 4140, and the thickness was very close to a factory FMP receiver.
    May you never walk alone.
