    @ARCTICDETH
    There were black sl8-1s

It's more of a configuration thing

Sl8-1 - grey or black, long optic rail with sights. Non-vented hand guard

Sl8-6 - black, short mid height optic rail, vented handguard.

In Canada they have -4 and -5 which use a g36 bolt and double stacked mags.

Somewhere there's a chart, I'll see if I can find it

The black “SL8-1s” were early SL8-6s, that hadn’t been remarked yet. They all had the -6 features like the ventilated handguard and short top rail without sights.

If I happen to get a descent find price for one, what does it take to bring it to a g36? What do the “c” and “k”mean for conversions.
I would rather have a longer barrel, I think. Your expertise is appreciated in this matter. Thank you ,’

This would be a first HK long gun purchase, so I’m a greenhorn newbie when it comes to conversions

Would the conversion cost less than a new 556?

I don’t honestly know what I’m doing when it comes to these conversions and such. Thank you for your help and time.

I would contact @hk21man if you want 'all' German without the hassle of finding a sl8, sourcing a parts kit, and having a fuse done.

Or, look into @tbostic tommybuilttactical.com for a new US made receiver.

U.S. parts are now avaiable, and TBT will be offering complete guns shortly.

Or, buy a conversion already done by tbostic that suits you, they pop up on gunbroker.

    C is ~8" barrel
    K is ~12.5"
    E is ~18"
    CQB is ~16.5
