    Default SL8 stock options

What are the best stock option for the sl8?
I am not yet committed to having it converted to a g36.
So I am not ready to have the receiver chopped.
Is the tommy built PSG8 stock the best way to go?
I have seen the bolt on stock that look like g36 stock but the LOP is way to long for me.
Does anyone make a shorter stock? other than using a C stock.
Is their a fixed stock version?
    thanks

"Stock blocks" are the most common method. You use a G36 trigger housing, put the SL8 FCG in there, and then attach some type of stock. Blocks were/are available to adapt to ACR, G36 and AR15 styles. The G36 stock block gives you the most authentic G36 look.

Then there are the dedicated new lowers like Tom's PSG8, and the Hera Arms kit. The Hera kit gives you the most flexibility in choosing a stock, because it allows the ACR stock, or any AR15 stock. The AR15 ACE adapter can be used to bolt on any ACE-compatible stock, of which there are many.
    Own: HK91, SR9, SP5k, G36k, HK416, P30L, 2x P8, 2x P8A1, USP9
Future: Done, until HK comes out with something new & nifty. Might start building an FNH collection.

Tom can make just about anything you want.

I had the same complaint about the LOP of a stock block conversion.

So Tom built a bolt on stock for me that incorporated the C length stock. I loved it.

Tom can also shorten any stock to be used with a block. He did so for me and made a huge differences on the length of pull. This way it will fold for storage as well.

Send it to Tom Bostic then. And I'd recommend the Spuhr magwell for AR mags. It is a bit pricier than the HK part, but it sports and ambi release, and comes with an extended bolt-catch lever which will trip properly with AR mags.
