    Default MP5-N or MP5F conversion from HK94

Need some help choosing the right conversion based on being correct as far as configurations.

    HK94 to MP5-N or F

    HK94 donor rifle
    I have a threaded MP5 N factory new barrel
    New F BCG
    F Stock
    40 cocking parts
    Ambi sling weldment

Using an threaded barrel on an F build would be incorrect right? That's my sticking point the threads.

I could go the N version and upgrade with cocking parts and BCG or build an F with a threaded barrel with all the other parts listed.
I am asking for opinions on the best way to go forward.

    Thanks

Don’t think so, but it’s possible. Even if it’s not a standard factory offering, if some agency/LEO wanted to buy 100 F guns with threaded barrels, I’m sure HK would accommodate. If you are going the F route, to be correct you will also need the F sling hook on both the magwell and under the triple tree.

You could make a thread cap that looks like an unthreaded barrel tip. It will be slightly oversized so could interfere with a suppressor unless removed, but will give the correct “look” while still having the option of threads. Personally I don’t see any reason for threads as the 3 lug is a pretty elegant and effective solution. I suspect that is why there aren’t threads on the F guns despite them being the most updated.

If considering going F wouldnt you need an F barrel if you wanted it to be correct?

The question is why did Knights use a threaded interface instead of a 3 lug? Perhaps the Navy spec required threads so you would (at least theoretically) use it in 9mm pistols as well? Given the knights suppressor size and weight I don’t think would be the case, but I can’t think of another plausible reason. Perhaps 3 lug performs poorly in a maritime environment?

Keep the 94 and have a German parts kit built
About a year ago I purchased a MP5F build from a forum member built by Ralph Smith jr. at Kilo guns son of Ralph senior RDTS from a german F-kit. This kit had mag well still attached. Couldn't be happier.runs 100% Auto/Semi-Suspressed/unsuspressed. Exelent finish,no sign inside or outside of where receiver was sectioned in.
