    Default Info on a HK94

I am looking at a HK94 date coded IF (85). The rifle has only a 4 digit serial# with no 43- in front of the serial number. The bolt and carrier both are marked IF. The barrel has the Z and I cannot quite make out the symbol. Also it is marked "Kal.9mmx19".
I did not look, but what date codes should the furniture have on it to be correct? Thanks in advance.

It's certainly possible that HK could have shipped a 94 with a date code on the furniture that differed from the date code on the receiver (IF). In other words, not all IF 94's necessarily shipped with the same date coded furniture. That doesn't really answer your question, but does say there might be more than one right answer.

The receiver marking are correct for an 80s HK94 - they had 4 digit serial numbers. My “ID” date coded HK94 has matching ID date codes on the furniture, including A3 stock, and came with a slim line forearm originally (meaning the furniture is coded “ID” as well). That said, i want to say that sometimes HK did not necessarily always let things go with matching everything.

Waiting for Tony to chime in ......

    Digits only/3-5 on IC-IG/82-86, and 43- and 5 digits on IH-IK/87-89 and KB/91--- no KA/90 imports!!!
    Date-coded parts (2 letters and/or one number/1-4) should be:

    1. bolt carrier
    2. bolt head
    3. charging handle
    4. forearm
    5. stock
    6. pistol grip (inside)
    7. barrel

IE/84 parts are possible on early IF/85 models.

Tony huge Thanks. If it is not ID or IF what 2 letters/1 number would indicate 84 or 85 furniture? Also the 94's only came with slim hand guards back then correct?

Who all mad 40 round magazines for the hk/94/MP5 and which ones are worth keeping?

    I meant "IE/84" above--- corrected!!!
What is on there, and what part?
Generally, one will see slimline forearms on ID-IF/82-85--- IG+/86+ is when wide forearms were utilized.
On the 40-round, curved magazines, I have seen the following--- these are probably the best:

    1. 40-round (curved) magazines (Iranian contract)

    MP5 HK/ 5/74
    HK MP 5/ 8/74
    MP5 HK/ 2/79

    2. 40-round (curved) magazines (LIQ/MCP)

LIQ (left side- bottom center)(plastic sleeve and white cardboard box)
MCP (left side- bottom center)(plastic sleeve and white cardboard box)
