Default WTK: How to ID a HK A2 stock vs. Clone Stock

Any telltale stamps or roll marks that distinguish a genuine HK A2 stock vs a clone?

An authentic HK stock will have either a date or 2 letter date code on it in the sling clip area. It is molded into the plastic.

    HK 91/G3 Examples:

Hmmmm. I purchased this from HK Parts for $199.95. Supposed to be new and authentic German HK A2. What do you think?

It looks authentic. Most likely legit.

HKparts.net should be a reliable source.

    2 indicators for HK manufacturing:

    1. rectangular recess, with number (1-4) and 2 letters (date code/A-I, and J instead of K, for parts)--- older manufacturing, or
    2. rectangular recess (blank)--- newer manufacturing

I notice a blank rectangle in Pic. 2--- I would say "factory" HK.

    See AGG post above.

The only other stocks that are plastic and made in the USA are the ones with the sling clip on both sides. Special Weapons stock.

    USA stock.

Look closer at the butt pad. Also a give away to a USA stock.

That said HK Parts does now offer a US made stock that is a direct copy of a HK factory stock. No rectangle.

I also have noted who ever was doing the photos of stocks was use stock photo images. Using the same photo for every makers stock.

POF stock is missing the rectangle box.
