Default NIB versus New without the box Question

Say you had two options to purchase a new unfired HK 91, 93, or 94 rifle.

    Option 1:
The rifle comes New in Box (NIB) with the cardboard box with the molded styrofoam insert if available.

    Option 2:
The same rifle as the NIB in option 1 but without the cardboard box with the molded styrofoam insert if available.

I understand if you are a collector and never plan on firing the rifle, you most likely want the NIB option.

    So therefore:
How much of a premium in $ is the NIB Option 1 worth over Opton 2?

In other words, what is Option 1 - Option 2 = ? premium

Good question, I had a guy tell me the factory styrofoam insert for the 91 was worth $100 bill by itself. Not sure if that’s true, but I’d think the box would be worth at least the same or more.

$150.00-$300.00 for a perfect box with all--- $1,500.00-$3,000.00+ difference between NIB w/all and NNB!!!
If for collecting, then NIB w/all--- if for resale, then NNB--- if for shooting/conversion, then excellent will suffice.

    Tony:

Let me see if I understand what you are saying:

    Option 1 - Option 2 = $150 to $300 premium

Does NNB = New No Box?

Then what do you mean by "1,500.00-$3,000.00 + difference between NIB w/all and NNB"

    Does this mean Option 1 - Option 2 = $1,500.00-$3,000.00 premium?

    Clarification:

Just for the box with all (e.g., styrofoam insert, etc.)
    NNB = New No Box
Difference in value between NIB w/all and just New No Box
