Has anybody ever seen this KAC optic mount for the HK G3/91 RAS handguard? It's looks similar to the MP5 one, but is over 8" long.
New one to me.
Looks good though.
New to me as well. I would question the stability of that rail with on a forward attachment point.

That is the G3 NVD Mount for the G3 RAS.
Not visible in the photos above, looking at the rail from the top, there should be what looks like a set screw at the very end, near the G3ís rear site. I understand that screw is intended to support the end of the rail against the top of the receiver and by doing so it helps minimize movement.
@Jal3030 - If you can, get a photo of the rail from the top.
Okay, fess up. Where did you get it?
I want one.
Thanks @HKPhil for identifying it!
It is a rare RAS option. Counting this one, I think Iíve only seen three in the wild.
The railís part description is ďNVD MOUNT, H& K G3Ē. That is how a new in box example I examined was labeled by KAC. Packaging was the typical white/brown flip top box all pre-Vault KAC HK RAS rails/accessories shipped in.
I donít know if a similar NVD mount was made for the HK33 RAS. If a variant was made, I have not seen it. Given that this is a NVD-specific rail from the Vero Beach days, I suspect it may exist for the G3 only. From what I gather, this rail variant was made in a limited quantity and was intended for a specific audience/purpose. It is not an item that saw general release like KACís other HK RAS options.
That company baffles me sometimes. They make something that is really OBVIOUS like an extended optics mount for the HK rifles, then make it in such limited release that they are a unicorn's unicorn.
It would seem obvious that anyone who used a KAC RAS on an MP5, utilizing either the KAC Aimpoint ring mount or the KAC picatinny rail mount, in getting a KAC RAS for an HK long gun, would expect the same type of rifle-appropriate mount to be made for long guns to mount a rifle-appropriate optic (or NV).
But no. KAC makes a handful then forgets about them. >sigh<
Thanks @HKPhil for saving me the trouble of looking.
It's actually a friend's that brought the rifle into the shop I manage. He's wanting to sell the rifle I believe, but was looking for some help identifying the mount first.
That is cool and if I saw one I would grab it. KAC is small company that seems to delight in unicorns. They are constantly releasing limited runs of things in small groups to limited audiences almost never to be made again. They are worse than HK when it comes to that kind of stuff.
