Default Barrel shroud for a MP5 Zenith z-5 16inch barrel?

    Hello All,

I'm going to be picking up a Zenith z-5 MP5 and wanted to put a barrel shroud on it to cover the long barrel.
Does anyone know if the original HK vented barrel shroud is threaded in 1/2x28? Or if anyone knows of any other
places that make barrel shrouds? I'm in CA so pistol or SBR is not an option the 16inch barrel has to stay on unfortunately.

The original HK barrel shroud isn’t threaded as the HK94 barrel was unthreaded and unlugged. The shroud was held in place buy a screw at the top of the vertical grip acting as a set screw to push a collar in the shroud against the barrel.
    Do you even HK, Bro?

Thanks for the detailed info I had a feeling it was unthreaded. Would you happen to know of any places that make custom fake cans or shrouds?
Just need something to cover that 16inch barrel that doesn't look right on a MP5.

Does the barrel have a three lug machined onto the end of the barrel? That’s going to be a complication.

Yes it has the three lug w/ the 1/2x28 threaded end. Might have to open up the rear of the fake can a little bit to clear the lugs.

Do they do custom work? I might have clearance issue with the three lug on the end of my barrel.

The shrouds I have gotten from them come with a removable rear so that would keep it open to the diameter of the shroud itself. Does that make sense?
