    Don't recall seeing it in the rifle. Is it involved with ejection?

    Mine doesn't have one, but I've see other that do.

    I'm not familiar enough with them to know if they came OEM, or if they were aftermarket. They mount at the rear of the ejection port.

    It is not an aftermarket part. Helps with deflection of the cartridge. My HK300 was NIB when I purchased it 3 years ago and it came off after maybe after 100 rounds. I glued it back on with some super glue and appears to be ok at this time. I have seen some rifles with them and others without. I think it is a weak link on the HK 300, as mine has been rock solid in quality.

    Ok, sounds like the deflector is not involved with our failure to eject situation...
