I realize for police departments and militaries, it’s obviously a lot cheaper to acquire and maintain AR pattern rifles than an armory full of 33 platform guns. But truly, out of all the HK 9X rifles, the 93/33/33k/53 is by far my favorite. I enjoy shooting these far more than the MP5 or G3 platform, it’s the perfect combination of fire power but comfort and control-ability. I almost always grab the 53 or 33k before the M16 if I’m going to the range. Not a more beautiful platform in my opinion.

As promised, I brought her home tonight. Hopefully I can get to the range and consummate the relationship this weekend. Heavy, ergonomics that aren’t great, expensive magazines and parts... BUT 1000x sexier than any AR IMO. I have an A3 meat tenderizer stock for it and I just ordered the last 1/7 33k barrel in stock at Gatewood Supply, BUT I’m torn about it. This thing is in pristine condition for a gun manufactured in 1977

I understand the hesitation but consider if its not in its original packing as a collector you will be recreating an even rarer bird by swapping front ends.
