    Default Hk33k trunion NP marking

Looking to buy a 33k front end. Can’t see any 178 stamps, but it is said to be a 1x7 German barrel. The only thing giving me pause is the trunion is marked NP. I have no idea what this means. Is this the nitro proof for the English built rifles or something else? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I just want to make sure I’m paying for a real German 33k front end and not a Malaysian or English front end.

"Sword in arm" over "NP" would be the London Proof House, "crown" over "NP" would be the Birmingham Proof House, or NP could mean 2001!!!
Post a picture of all relevant markings.

Thank you so much, that’s exactly what I wanted to know. This is why this forum is so great. I don’t have any better pictures of the front end right now but I’m getting some and I’ll post them

So thanks to you I was able to determine it was the London proof house! I’ll post some pictures from my computer when I get home, it has some really interesting markings and laser engravings from the factory.

Do you mind if I ask your opinion of the English barrels? Are they of the same quality or pedigree as the ones made in Germany? Mike at TSC who will be doing the work says they’re great and most of the 33 barrels he’s seen lately have all been English.

I kind of hate not having a 100% German gun but it was the only 1x7 33k front end I could find and I probably still overpaid at that!

I’m embarking on a 33k conversion myself. I happened to order Gatewoods last 1/7 “NP”’marked barrel with the English crest. TSC will be doing the conversion as well. Mike told me the same thing the NP barrels, they’re GTG

That’s awesome, I was just talking to Ben, sounds like you and I got the last two of them! We’re going to be 33k twins!

hoping Mike has the gun in early April
