Default Pictorial examples of various red dots on B&T SP5 mounts

I recently got a SP5 (and sold my SP5K) and a B&T 21222 picatinny mount. I previously used a B&T Micro specific "low" 10266 mount with an Aimpoint Micro TL (like a T1 or H1). Anyway, I have a variety of red dots and I thought others might find the following useful. I'm not done yet and will likely add more later.

Micro full, with low Micro 10266 mount

I neglected to get a view pic, but the dot is about centered above the sight post and below the hood. I'll add one later.

The Noblex is about the same height as the Micro above (18mm optical axis height).

    --------------------------------------------

The picatinny 21222 mount is about 8.5mm higher than the Micro 10266 mount.

The view pic is slightly off and the dot is basically on the hood.

    --------------------------------------------

The following Nano, Acro, and RSA are all pretty much the same optical axis height (22mm) and above the hood. The Nano and Acro will also fit the low Micro 10266 mount, but the dot is on the hood.

    --------------------------------------------

Steiner R1X side, with picatinny 21222 mount

The R1X is well clear of the hood, but a much bulkier optic.

    --------------------------------------------

The following XPS2 and Micro with high spacer end up about the same height with the XPS2 at about 30mm + 8.5mm higher mount compared to the Micro at 39mm with 8.5mm lower mount.

    More to come...

thank you for the post, I am trying to figure out what im going do as well. I definately want my dot under the hood and above the front sight. Am I reading correct that you found the B&T 10266 to be the lowest?

Have you tried the hk pic mount? If so, why don't you use it?

I have the Botach HK ultra low profile mount on my SP5k. Mounts directly to the top of the gun, with the picatinny rail removed.

I mounted the Sig Romeo5 to the HK ultra low profile mount and it co-witness' the front site post, right on top of it. Very happy with how it did that.

my apologies for the poor picture, but holding the SP5k AND the camera in the other hand, I took several pix and that was the best one - at least you can see the co-witness

Chris0275, I’ve only tried the 2 B&T mounts. The 10266 is the lowest they make and it can’t go much lower. To get the dot under the hood and above the post, your options are very limited: you need a 10266 or similarly low mount and a Micro, Noblex, or other optic with a similarly low optic axis about 18mm from the top of the rail.

LilTakkun, yes, my Sp5k had the HK rail. At the time, I thought it was bulky, I tried a red dot on it and didn’t like it (I can’t remember which one or why I didn’t like it) and like a dummy, I sold it. I wish I didn’t now, but I’m not spending the coin on another.

Glad you guys are finding this useful.

Anyone know if the HK MLI rail is lower/higher than this Micro 10266? I think I've narrowed my choices to those two.
