    Default HK93 Magazines

I would appreciate any insight via experience with HK93 40 round magazines. Reliability etc. Also, di HK ever make a steel 40 round mag for the HK93?

All that I am aware of--- both very reliable:

    - 40-round aluminum magazines (HK/Malaysian contract)

    a) “5,56 x 45 HK 8/69”- 2 springs (1 longer and 1 shorter) no date code on plastic follower; no dates/date codes on magazine body- 2 springs (1 longer and 1 shorter); plastic followers- “6/1/76”; “8/4/78”

    b) front of magazine ("T" where the follower connects- small round nipple, no welds, and "U-notch" at base of upper reinforcement)

    - 40-round steel magazines (MCP/Max Capacity Products)- steel followers (1980’s)

    a) “MCP” (left magazine body/upper right) or “LIQ” (left magazine body/upper right) in plastic wrap in white box (parkerized finish)

What about the reliability of the aluminum HK 40 round mag?

I have several and have not had any issues with them. This said, I believe you will have better reliability with a 25 or 30 round steel HK mag. How much of a difference? I would guess marginal/negligible.

I have never had any problems with HK 40 rounders, I have owned and used probably 50 over the years.

I've found all of my H&K produced steel or aluminum magazines to be highly reliable. I've even had great luck with Promag magazines after I have fitted them to the rifle.

I've been using HK 30's and whoever made my 40's for years. My 33 currently has a post sample pack in it. Never had an issue with any of the mags on semi or full.
