    aesthetics, im not worried about, just protecting my investment. and it will help (a little) with the overall looks

    if i could get away with wrapping it in electrical tape i would.
    Let's think this through -- what are you protecting the barrel from? You're either going to need to use barrel-marring set screws or you're going to need to drill holes in the handguard plastic to mount the thing. Counterproductive. You'd be better off wrapping it in electrical tape and using goo-gone when you take it off (no, I'm not recommending that). And it'll weigh enough that you notice it out at the end of the barrel.

    Do yourself a favor and spend the money on ammo.
    Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid.

    the one i was looking at was not much$
    i figure for that price its worth it to protect the barrel from scratches/rust/in the future.
    i want to take exceptional care of my possessions.

    Does anyone need a reason? Maybe it just looks cool to them.

    found a nice inexpensive one. for a great price. more or less for protecting the barrel, hardly any extra weight added to barrel.
    Will look great when im done. now if only i can get the darn rifle ill be good to go. Elvis, love your personality ......

    @dwillHK

    made the purchase. for protection of the barrel, so if i hit it at the range, or bang it on something, the barrel wont get dinged, the shroud will, and for the little i paid, i feel its well worth it. for my own piece of mind. and it looks sweeeeet !!!! cheers
    Thanks for your support \,,/

    Sorry, didn’t realize this place was for operators only. If it’s not high speed, low drag, and 100% dedicated to zapping tangos, you shouldn’t have it on a HK. My bad.

    Compromising function to make a tool look 'cool' is dumb. But you're exactly right: everyone is free to be impractical. Carry on.

    @ARCTICDETH , you can email Michael at MFI regarding the set screws on their fake can, it may have a hard plastic at tip so will not leave mark on barrel. I have MFI fake can for my PS90 the set screws has hard plastic at tip.

    hoping for the best.

    only need to protect the barrel. guy says theres a round piece which wont scratch the barrel. he says lifetime guarantee, on it, if i don't like it send back.
    sounded good.
