    Default WTK: G3 conversion value

Haven't seen too much discussion on this so I thought I'd post a new thread and ask...

What do you think a G3 (converted from an HK91) would be worth? Assume the following:

    1) Genuine HK91 with "great" condition original internals and proper gap with "0" rollers
    2) Receiver restamped "G3"
    3) G3 triple frame installed
    4) G3 c/p SEF lower (not one with ears cut off)
    5) Paddle mag release installed
    6) Parkerized with Gun-Kote matte-black finish
    7) Brand new German O.D. green furniture (wide forearm, grip, stock)

    Thanks!

I would say : move to Europe ;)

Last year I saw an ex-Bundeswehr G3 (green furniture) in great condition for 800 euro (I was so crazy not to buy it)

I'd say just about the same as a plain HK91 in similar condition, plus $300 or $400 for the options.

Are you referring to a non-push pin registered machine gun? If so, my guess would be in the range of $12K-13K.

id say close to 3-3.5k, depending on the quality of the build and paint. but your looking at a few hundred for the grenade rings and mag release, another couple hund for park and paint, , full auto carrier is a few hundred, and welding and restamping another hund or 2, and grip and furniture too. about a thousand more in options i would say on top of the 91

No no, just a standard HK91 that's been cosmetically converted.

The deal is, I got hit with an unexpected tax bill this year so I'm going to thin out a few of my rifles. Yeah, it really stinks but I'll replace them later this year.

I received a reasonable offer on my HK91 (which I had slated for a G3 conversion for myself - all the conversion parts I already bought/made). So I'm trying to guage if it will be worth my time to convert it then sell it.

If I can reasonably get around $3K for it after conversion, then I'll go ahead and do it. If not, then I'll just have to sell it as it is... a 91.

Seemingly as its really only worth the cost of the HK91 + the converstion parts your really not getting paid for your time at all with the exception of the re-stamping and paddle install. Should get close to the same amount of money just selling everything without the hassle of doing the conversion.

I would just hold onto the conversion parts and sell the rifle if you plan on replacing it later.
