    You're welcome sir.

Yeah, the rendering leaves a lot to be desired so we'll see what it really looks like when they release some real pics

Lets not forget they first promised a G36 clone over three years ago and yet nothing not even a "pistol" variant. With all the financial problems HK has why they are sitting on this potential gold mine is beyond me???

HK did make and does sell the HK243 in Europe. However, I don't think it was ever confirmed that HK had any real plans to actually make a US version called the HK293, regardless of what that article says.

In any case, things have changed since that time with the change in political climate, plus HK building a new, bigger US facility.

Also, let's be realistic. Even without the bad press in the German media about the G36, a US made one is probably going to be a tough sell in a country awash in sub $1K ARs that has literally tons of aftermarket support. It may not be quite the gold mine that people believe.

yeah, the only things they didn't rename are handguns and 40mm's?

I'm kind of the opinion, as are others on here, that the days of the G36 have passed. despite how the lawsuit turned out, I think that ship has sailed..... I'm more interested in the 433 and the newer A5 variant of the 416. I will say, that little .300 BO 416 peaks my curiosity, and I'm not a .300 proponent, generally.

G and MG are German designations like our "M". Perhaps they required another moniker in addition to the official German designation and numbering system 2.0 had to be applied. It seems they stuck with the caliber for the last digit (7 being added for 300 BO) and the 2nd digit is the weapon type (2= belt fed MG, 3= mag fed assault rifle)...still not sure I understand the logic behind the 100's/first digit place value other than to distinguish this weapon's suite/parent model from the older roller-lock suite of guns.

At first I thought this is just an updated HK 243

HK should focus on the 433

Does this mean both the 433 & 233 going to enter the German new assault rifle trial?

I posted details on the actual nature of changes to G36 here, possibly a mod can move it if it was the wrong forum: https://www.hkpro.com/forum/hk-long-g...ml#post2776041
