It looks like the G36 with a non removable handguard and sight rail

Your title is wrong. It's the 233, not 223.

this is an odd one, it does look like the handgaurd is built into the receiver in the rendering but that would make getting to the gas system impossible so more than likely they just got lazy in the rendering and this model is just featuring a different handgaurd and top rail. Also Odd to change the name of the platform instaed of just giving it another G36 nomenclature like G36A5 or something. Its like they are just throwing up random new models to make it look like they are offering new product and not just swapping furniture. This really adds to the bigger picture of the struggle being real to me.

Well that is interesting. Notice the 237 in 300BLK too. I bet this slightly updated g36 will be one of HK's entries into Deu rifle trials along with 433

Keep in min back in March of this year, HK did announce the HK237 (G36 in .300 BLK|.300 WHISPER) and HK337 (HK416 in .300 BLK|.300 WHISPER). Seems the HK237 made it to the website, but not the HK337. Instead we got the HK233 and HK233K with no PR release. Kind of weird, but maybe not.

G28 is now noted as the 241

Thought the G36 was pretty much done after the infamous wandering zero incidents, and the HK had already moved onto a newer ACR-like design, the HK433. Seems like the last gasp of a dying platform, much like Sig tried (and failed) with the 556xi.

At best, this might be OK for a US civie G36 release.
