Looks great @omega21 . I like that front sight.
Just finished re-installing the original barrel that was cut down and threaded to ISO specifications by member @NoScoE30 He also had H&M Metal Processing Black Nitride the barrel which now is a deep lush dark black color. Also added an XS Trijicon Big Dot front sight. I like this site because it's easier to sign in quickly on the white dot plus the hood is metal not plastic. I had the SBR engraving put on the gun's spine where the optic rail normally goes.
This SBR/carbine handles really well (haven't fired it just yet) even with the silly thumbhole stock. Only downside remaining now is the USCs massively over-sized hand-grip circumference. My plan is to leave this as an unconverted USC. I have a Hera 20 round mag but was too lazy to dig it up for the pics.

Keep your booger hook off the bang switch till you're ready to bring the hate
Wow, a relatively minor mod makes the entire rifle much more appealing.
Don't forget to post a picture of how nice the threads look under that thread protector. :-)
I still enjoy shooting mine:)
That thread cap made from the barrel is awesome. Especially since it lines up correctly.
I have a stock USC that I've been thinking of selling, but these threaded SBRs are changing my mind.
@viriceman - that is stellar looking! Love the black and gray combo and the Zeiss red dot (amber?) looks right at home! And as @DentedBrass said, the thread protector is a perfect accessory! Is the long mag a ProMag? How have you found it?
Thanks @kbinmt - looking forward to seeing your own UMP build
@NoScoE30 - I'll add pics of the finished threads when I get the gun out of the safe again. Good idea.
Thanks @audiction You know Tom Bostic will convert the Thumbhole stock to something like the pics below (one shown on a USC, the other on a UMP conversion). But the thumbhole stock for me is not a problem either functionally or aesthetically. I actually quite like the look of it. What I hate about the USC is the hand grip circumference - way too big. As far as I'm concerned it makes the USC a lemon. I had an extensive email conversation with Mr Bostic, who is a true artist and innovator, about reducing the grip circumference on a black USC lower. Ultimately he concluded that it simply was not workable and the grip could not be remolded into a more user friendly config. We also talked about attaching a UMP lower grip onto the USC lower, but that's just silly since it destroys an expensive UMP lower. I haven't figured out a non-bubba way to do this. I have a spare gray lower I might just take a Dremel to...
