SP89 to MP5k-n conversion. All HK parts including the HK barrel, Mag paddle release, remarked and refinished. Have a Kac suppressor on the way and runs smooth in full auto.

Yep got the barrel about 3 years ago $1200. I thought I was crazy then, but I am so glad I did it now.

Steal! Last one I saw sold earlier this year was at least $2-3k.

Where does one get a barrel to do their own, and is that even feasible?

They come up for sale from time to time, usually off guns that got demilled. They are very expensive due to how rare they are. If you want a German barrel and don't want to spend that much you have two real options. First is that some gunsmiths will weld a 3 lug to the end of the barrel. The other is what TSC can do. You provide a mp5 or hk94 barrel and he will cut it down to mp5k specs. I've seen ones he has finished and they look really good.

After that your options are aftermarket. I personally had Mike install a B&T barrel on my sp5k. If they hadn't have come out I would have had him cut down a mp5 barrel.

I had Mike use a B&T barrel for my MP5K-N conversion as well. Awesome work. If money were mo object and I could find one, I would've gone gone factory HK PDW but the juice wasn't worth the squeeze for me. If B&T hadn't come out with their barrels I may have held out for the rest thing. I did keep my MP5 N and HK53 100% German when Mike did them.
