Yeah I saw that guide in my internet searching. I’m trying to do my due diligence... I’m quite excited about the prospect.

If I need to have the piece sent for someone to inspect or work on, who would you suggest? I’ve seen some names such as Terry Dyer on the forums but his contact info seems difficult to come by.

Looking at the barrel profile, it seems that this mp5k was worked on by Terry Dyer. Seems to be the sp89 barrel that was modified with a tri lug adapter fitted.

You are overly focused on the SP89 and not the sear. Think of the SP89 as a bonus. You need to make sure that is the sear is not modified or altered in any way. Make sure the paperwork is correct.
Single Barrel and Gono like this.

I don't blame him. I thought I was being evasive when doing the same and researching my first MP5 purchase here, but not evasive enough. Someone found it and bought it out from under me. Now with it being an estate sale of a friend, probably not as big of a concern.

That kind of information you do not give up--- unless you are passing on the item!!!
