Curious to know how many SP5 owners, or soon to be owners, plan to convert their SP5 to an MP5-N (including plans to SBR)? How many plan to leave the firearm as an SP5 and file form 1? Jr converted one of mine and it cleaned up really nicely.

Looks great but I don't like that Jr. is altering the city & state of the importer to Sterling VA.

Definitely strange. Wrong importer for the date code/proof marks anyway.

Probably will keep mine as is from the factory. I don’t know why but I kind of like the laser engraving on the mag well so refinishing it is out of the question, and no plans of SBRing it.

Does anyone else think it’s odd the inside of the gun isn’t finished/painted? I just noticed it the other day

The carrier block? It’s still there. I realize others are comfortable removing it, but I personally wouldn’t be comfortable removing it without definitive word from the ATF saying it’s ok. That said, I have a several sear hosts and have no real reason to remove this one. Not planning to keep this firearm....the next owner can do with it as they wish

I personally would not SBR one of these simply because a brace does the same thing as a stock. Figure it's a pistol so it's legal to take anywhere without paperwork especially on short notice and can be sold as a title one firearm with ease. Same thing for just about all NFA items with exception to suppressors. Simply, it adds layers of red tape that's just not worth it.

I am SBRing mine. If I should ever have to sell it which I wouldn't do. All you have to do is notify ATF to remove it from the registry. Put the end cap back on and it's a pistol again. Your out $200 but look a hell of a lot better with a real stock on it. imho.
