Quick question that has bothered me for long time....Straightgrain, please weigh in on this if you would, please!
Why do some people list every gosh darn gun they claim to own in their signature block?????
Just seems like bad OPSEC to me.
I do think about that sometimes, but for me its definitely not every gun I own (not to seem like I am bragging, but it would be a long list) and that I would have an issue with. For me it started out as a way of saying without saying that I have and that my experience with whatever might be relevant to someone. At a certain point in collecting it might have grown too large, but at the same time I use it as a WTB ad too so there is that.

straightgrain , I have also pondered about this too, I personally don't see the need to tout about what i've got. i guess it makes the community more interesting and open to each other though.
Back on topic, The main reason to suppress, to make the gun quiet. A full size suppressor is too long and heavy for my liking on a compact gun. Some argue you can run a can in a "short" configuration, but that seems counterproductive to me.
I guess my real point is that these days and especially with computers and all the computer crimes that we all pay big dollars to "protect" our computers. That a list of weapons that someone owns-claims to own- is just a list of which house to hit first for quick sell items for drug money. I.m just looking at it from an OPSEC point of view. (Operational Security)
I grant you that some are post what they own to brag...kinda of a computer big dick contest. That part I have no problem with...don't wish to participate, but if some want to fine with me. My Dad told me since I was a child that the first liar doesn't stand a chance.
Like Straightgrain says....it not what you have, its how you can USE what you have. Remember that old saying about the man that has only one gun...he probably knows how to use it very well!!!!
