Default HK heavy bipod’s ...there's more than one?

    Yes there is.
We’re generally familiar with the G3 heavy bipod which is where I’ll start.

While probably not one of the most practical accessories to add to the already 9lb. G3 it certainly does not fail to impress ...impressive is almost an understatement, they truly are a work of art.

This is really nothing more than a pictorial showing some of the details of the G3 heavy bipod.
    ...thanks for looking!

    Default The .223 heavy bipod

I’m not quite sure where to start with this except that I’m fairly certain it falls into the unicorn category.
Other than this one I have only seen pictures, or should I say illustrations, that are in the Harrington & Richardson manual for the T223 rifle.
I won’t be getting into the H&R T223 history you can find that information online.

A few years back there was a T223 on gun broker but no bipod.
The only other T223 that I’ve seen pictures of is in Reed Knights collection, unfortunately it didn’t appear to have a bipod.

The short story on how I acquired this.
It was actually being in the right place at the right time even though it was posted online.
The gentleman that I purchased this from bought it years earlier and stashed it away only to find out when he went to mount it on his G3 style rifle that it seemed to be missing the collar as like the one posted above. His post was an inquiry not an actual for sale post.

Eager to post that I knew what it was for I said that it was used on the T223 and that the collar he thought was missing was because it didn’t have a separate, removable collar; the collar is permanently welded to the trunnion.
I’ve also seen/have pictures of a G3 that had this same weldment. (pics added)

After posting I thought “why did I just do that!”
Needless to say I followed up with a PM immediately asking if he ever decides to sell it to let me know.
Since it didn’t meet his needs we reached an agreement and it was on its way, this was in 2013.

Sorry, no unicorns for sale but thought some might like to see that they do exist.

This has been a work in process right after I got my hands on the bipod.
The only reason it’s not done is that I really would like to get a properly stamped flat with the top rib, also a flat would allow me to have it engraved with the T223 markings.

It’s loosely assembled for the pics on an SW rec.
I used a Malaysian SUO lower, filled all the original markings except the “S”and had it laser engraved with the “Safe, S.A., F.A. on both sides similar to the original.
