Is there any recommended pre-lubrication procedures I should undertake before shooting my VP9 for the first time?

    Thank you,

I'd clean off factory cosmoline, oil with Slip 2000 EWL 30 and then blast away.

Updated....don't use crappy ammo, brass cased 124g new range fodder. Euro loads are generally hotter than US, Win NATO isn't bad, Speer Lawman, Fed American Eagle. I usually go with S&B, Geco, Fiocchi, Ruag/MEN, whatever I find on sale at the time.

Welcome to the site. There is good advice above. I would add to take good care in maintaining your pistol by keeping it cleaned and lubed.

Also, HK customer service is actually quite good if you do need to use them or buy additional parts/mags.
