I wouldn't stress, there are a lot of talented machinists here, there will be a viable solution to add a three lug to the German barrel.

My buddy Jeff at AZ Armory can do that. Not sure of price but you can call and give him a shout (602) 819-4615

I still want to see more from HK. Maybe this is a tease to see how we respond. But sell MP5 mags, barrels would be nice. I liked cz's response to making legal sbr stock kits for the evo. HK should sell a bunch of the mini folder stocks and ump style, and offer a US made 922 parts pack to get it done. I guess at the price point they will get less casual users who bought on a whim. I still think it would be a good idea to support those who want to turn it into an SBR/pdw.

I probably would go RCM but it would at least consider mke depending on price. But they do already have the barrels so just implying they could probably sell them. Some might want them.

What HK could definitely do is something along the lines of what they do with MR barrels: Hammer forge the blanks in Germany and then finish them in Newington, NH. Just a thought / option. What is for sure is if they marketed HK 3-lug threaded barrels for the k, they would sell them quicker than they could produce them.

I'll take Aubert & Duval steel barrel blanks from HK Germany and have them finished here any day of the week.

Interesting, I live in NH and have heard nothing of this. HK's own website (maybe outdated) still shows manufacturing there: Contact - Heckler & Koch

I believe that is/was a manufacturing JV of some sort with Wilcox.

Interesting as well. At least that what I heard and also heard the VA office was moving to a smaller suit.

Isn't it a pain in the ass to re-barrel an MP5 anyway though? It's not exactly a quick swap, is it?

Nope, it's not. It's do "do it yourself project" for at least 99% of us.
