Agreed. That court document read like it had "let's make an example of this ahole" undertones throughout.

He's the O.J. of the gun parts industry. That is the main problem with our criminal justice system. Spend enough and you'll get a deal that most would never get. Guns aside, most Americans would serve far longer for just the tax evasion.

    Guilty plea = reduced sentence

Yes, and in fact, only plead guilty after he was convicted, thus forfeiting his appeal rights.

The sentencing guidelines for federal courts are much more stringent than state courts. The prosecutor requested the judge impose a 37 month sentence. However, he was given a 48 month sentence instead. The bottom line here is that the judge threw the proverbial "book" at him. I'm sure his legal team negotiated a plea deal prior to trial. Adam, do to his narcissistic and arrogant attitude, went all in. And, I'm sure he was advised if he did so, that the punishment would be much more severe if he lost in court. I sympathize for his children, but not for him.

You know the bill is still going higher. Lets see, this has been going on since 2012?

I got to think the average is over $100k per year?

Unless you are an illegal alien, then gov does not care if you do not file or pay federal taxes.

Nothing illegal about it. You post your sale, meet up in person. Most sellers will require you have a CCW permit from the state, but again, not required. All that is required is that you are not 'knowingly' sale to a felon or person not able to own a firearm.

While what you say is true (to a degree), it is NOT correct if selling firearms is part of your business. And if a person sells a sufficient number of firearms, they can be legally deemed to be in the business of selling firearms, and thus, require a federal firearms license. What I’m saying is you can’t stand behind the FTF/not dealing gambit when the facts of the case prove otherwise.
