My BS meter is off the charts. Unless OP is a SOT and the MP5 is a postie or he has no idea what he is talking about and it is just some semi clone or another
Your BS meter is crap then.

Not everyone is in the US.:)

    And that's not the point.
The point is a general question, to shoot any gun which might be valuable.

If the question hinges on value your location is material.

Where are you from? In many countries (including the USA, where this forum is based,) regulations are the largest factor in terms of value.

Would you shoot it or not?

    Edit:
The MP5 is HK, no build or clone.
My pre-86 was factory new/unfired when I bought it, that lasted about 72 hours after the form 3 went through.

It depends on your financial situation. If you want to keep it investment grade and new, don't shoot it. You can always buy a clone.

Location absolutely is a point. In the US, the average civilian will pay close to his annual income for a real MP5.

I would shoot it or sell it, as a gun in the safe that does not get shot is of no interest to me.

Personally there is no way I would shoot that gun. I would sell it for top dollar to someone that would keep it in their collection in pristine condition. I would then use the pile of cash to buy one or more shooter grade Hks or custom clones, as well as accessories and ammo. However, it is your gun so do what you feel is best for you. Just remember if you shoot it you have most likely just lowered the value by a large amount.

I say, "Shoot it!"... but that's why I can't have nice things.
