What optics do SOF (i.e. SEALS, GSG9) and SWAT teams (like LAPD or FBI HRT) use on the MP5?

I have seen a few LEOs running the Trijicon MRO.

FBI HRT used Aimpoint COMPs but mostly they use Geissele upper'd ARs now...

Typically you will see Aimpoints and EOtech 511/512/XPS...

I do not believe SEALs used any optics...

(from the infamous SEAL armory pics)

Delta/CAG had Aimpoints on some...lots of pics of the top of the front hood cut to not obscure the red dot (may be why the 416 irons are the way they are...due to the Delta input)

Yeah cutting the hood was a favored mod with people running red dots on them...is that a NF mounted on a MP5SD...makes 0 sense...lol...

At the time, there were only a few "NAVSPEC" scope options in the SEAL inventory. They may have only been the 2.5-10x24mm and the 3.5-15x50mm for sure. They did not have an LPVO like we would have now nor did they use 1-4x24 NF officially.

And at the time, the MP5SD was a niche' weapon that would have been used for....let's say "no-fail" offensive shots where being compromised is at stake. Thus a magnified optic (the smallest they had in inventory) makes sense for critical shot placement.
