Was talking to my friend/range buddy/hunting buddy and an argument came up.
Whats the Correct Pronunciation of the word "Koch" in H&K ?
I have heard all kind of versions, But i pronounce it a 'cutch'. Any one knows the answer to this ? Any German here that could help.

Well as a namesake and being from a Germany, we pronounce as “kahtch” with a long A. That is due to coming over to the US when being a German and not on the “good side of the fight” was a bad thing so it was Americanized. My family in Germany pronounces our name “cochh”. (With the och being more guttural or flemmy if you will.)
I could give you a half dozen other ways to pronounce it but that is how we pronounce it in Germany as well as our Americanized pronunciation since you all can’t pronounce it with our German flair.
Hk12step shows correct. That is how it is in America but in Germany the CH is not a hard K as it is more of a chhh. Hopefully that makes sense. Say it as coke but instead of making the hard Ke, blend the chhhhh.
^^Exactly. We are talking about different languages, so of course it’s going to be pronounced differently around the globe. Take milk for instance, English, milk; in German, it’s milch, in Spanish, leche. The same exact thing that comes out of a cow, goat etc. but pronounced differently depending on where one resides and the language in which they speak.
One thing that will never make sense and no one can convince me otherwise is how in the hell Brett Favre tricked the world into thinking it’s pronounced “Far-ve”. The damn v is before the r. But I digress.
I’ve always said COKE but only because that’s the way the Koch Brothers pronounce their name.

The closest sounding English word is probably cuck. Especially if you try saying it under your breath while you cough.
