    Default The Tactical Games

Pretty amazing past weekend surviving my first Tactical Games! Georgia was host to the June 2019 Tactical Games at South River Gun Club in Conyers, Ga. If you have not heard of this event, I'll post the link....check it out. In a nutshell, the competition combines shooting with extreme fitness and is frequented with some of our Nation's elite of elite to compete (like the real active duty and fit operator badasses!). What an experience!

I'm tired just by looking at those weights you carried lol. Glad to see that they offer intermediate divisions, sounds like a lot of fun. What part would you say was the most challenging besides shooting straight?

Prior to the event, I slammed my finger in a door and after a few days it developed an infection where the huge hematoma was located. 4 days before the match, the Dr said the nail was coming off either now or after. I gambled and had him remove it....hurt like all hell for 2 days after and thankfully was just miserably bad by Saturday (day 1 of Tactical Games event). I used a tweaked finger splint, tape, and 800mg of Ibuprofen every few hours to make it through the competition! Definitely made for some good memories and a huge self challenge to play through the misery!

Great question! Everything was challenging including the shooting! The physical challenges definitely added to the complexity of hitting the targets. Shooting exposed many people’s poor fundamentals and misses added 10 seconds! This type of event definitely tests everything one has and because of that it leaves every competitor with a huge feeling of satisfaction.....what I haven’t seen the event admit to yet was the drop out percentage on day one due to dehydration/injury/tooooo much to handle......Based on what was there at the beginning and what finished, I estimate the drop out rate was 15-20%. I’d say most of that rate was tied to dehydration based on the people I saw struggling with the nasty heat and humidity. A friend of mine that competed with me brought his Dr. Buddy to hook him up to an IV between battles and to administer oxygen!!!! I must admit, I partook in the oxygen but declined the IV (hate needles!!!!!)
