    Default G36 Mud test (inRangeTV)

I was super excited to see this on my feed. Karl tested a Tommybuilt. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2dU-AH0aQA

Before you watch, who wants to bet if the open top bolt will pass?

I personally would not have shipped that $1k optic set to potentially be ruined...bigger huevos than I have to do that!

But good performance by the G36.

    YMMV.

Actually, should be be surprised? The XM8 aced mud and dirt tests back in about 2007 or so against the M4, SCAR and others that were carried out by the US Army. And the XM8 is basically a US Army spec G36. And the SCAR also passed InRange's mud test as well with a similar performance.

That being said, it's still a sample of one and not exactly scientific. But the G36 has been praised by German soldiers and Army officers for it's reliability.

Ironic thing is that nowadays, especially for spec ops, some of the add-ons to rifles cost more than the rifles themselves. I don't know how much a Beretta ARX-200 cost the Italian Army or how much the Steiner ICS cost them, or what a ARX-200 would retail for, but I know that the ICS retails on the commercial market for over $4700 USD.
