Well its not a true MR556, and not a true HK416, and not a full on M27, but its as close as I can get it. It is also unfortunately in a not so friendly state so its configuration has some "compliance features".
I originally had this upper on a KAC Lower but wanted a more authentic HK look and when the Brownells lowers came out, I preordered one immediately.

    MR556 Upper with HK11" rail
    Surefire SFMB556
    KAC front and rear sights
    Brownells BRN4 Lower
CMMG Parts kit with ambi safety
Voltor milspec buffer tube with Noveske QD endplate
    MR556 concave rear stock
    TA11SDO-CP ACOG
    Magpul Bipod
    KAC Front grip
BCM Pistol Grip (Looking for original HK Pistol Grips)
    Manta Rail Covers

    Sig M17 commemorative variant

    Thanks!

My only complaint is that its bloody heavy, but of all my AR builds over the years, its probably my most favorite.

I also have a Surefire Warden and I was trying it on this build last weekend. Now the Surefire brakes do have aggressive side blast, but mitigate recoil pretty well especially in the HKs over gassed system. The Warden most definitely increased forward flash and felt recoil when used.

I’m glad I ran into this thread! I went with non HK lower on my build because I wanted to use the same mags as my other AR’s as well as normal takedown pins etc. and for a bit I sort of regretted not going with HK lower and or if it mattered or frowned upon a non HK lower lol. Anyways this thread makes me feel better. Here’s mine:
Spike’s no logo stripped lower so I could have custom etch work done
    Geissele rail
    Griffin Armament taper mount brake
    HK stock
    Troy micro HK buis
    Raptor ch
Aimpoint H1 on Kinetic Mount (Larue HK Mount on the way)
    Aimpoint magnifier Larue mt
    Wilson Combat TTU-M2 trigger
    Battle Arms safety
    Battle Arms takedown pins
    Phase 5 bolt catch
    Magpul Moe+ grip
    B5 hand stop

Contemplated for a while having the barrel shortened and re profiled but the price to do it right is painful so the contemplating continues on ....
I was stoked when I completed the build but
Also still pops in my mind now and then keeping an eye on a MR556 Lower, trying to get over the feel of it’s not a true complete HK? Lol.

Thanks! After reading more here, just found the mention of the 416 stripped lower from Brownells. Somehow I never heard of it before my build about a year ago but I’m pretty sure I’ll get one just to give it more of an authentic look. Does regular Pmags and US mil-spec safeties and takedown pins work with the 416 stripped lower from Brownells? If so I just may get one and swap everything over! With Mr556 upper markings , would it make more sense to have the lower MR556 marked or 416 marked and possibly have the upper redone or am I just overthinking it??

    Thanks again!
