    Extension hole? That is new to me. Mine does not have any. Only support nub.

    In the bottom of the extension there is a hole drilled straight through. There is no cooresponding hole in the receiver though. Mu best guess is that on a true OTB 416, there would also be a hole in the receiver and this would be a primary drain for water in the barrel/chamber/bore.

    I've seen this MR556 thread and i would just like to add this:

    MR223 doesn't like the "Barnaul" 55gr and 64gr 5,56x45mm ammo - it doesn't stabilize it properly and it starts keyholing at 10 meters and beyond

    It is not ammo thread, but this problems are not limited to HK. 5.56 Barnaul bullets apparently are undersized. Barnaul is just brad to stay away from, no matter of rifle make.

    Have a same proplem with 5.56 Santa Barbara(Spanish surplus).
    Santa Barbara(available in europe) is reloaded because M855 is restricted in Germany where wholesale located.
    Still it work fine with Colt AR-15A2.
