HK still hates us, seems like you have to buy about $1100 worth of "meh" to get a nice OE stock.

Eh, the MR762 really isn't that heavy and it balances better in stock form than a stock MR556. It's balance is markedly better than an LMT MWS and feels lighter. Also, since it's really a long range precision rifle that most everyone will put a bipod and glass on, the extra 14oz. or so from the barrel profile really isn't that big a deal.

A factoy MR556 "LWP" would be awesome on the other hand.

Default New MR762 LRP for 2013

I like the stock but they really should have released this with the longer handguard. I would really like one of those stocks and the long handguard.

Im sure the stock will most likely show up in the webshop. Seems HK furniture is what is mostly available in their webshop. That way we can all get the part we want without the other stuff and the predictable hefty price tag. My mr762 is set up just the way I like it.... Except for a dang adjustable cheek weld. That stock would complete my rifle.

I also just noticed the new sling attachment on the back plate around the buffer tube of the mr762 LRP, haven't seen that available on the standard mr762. Looking forward to that as well.

Knowing HK, they'll probably charge $3K over the price of a vanilla MR762A1.
If I remember good, MSPR is tad under $5000 (or was it $6000? ... I think that it was $5000).

Barrel is 16.5" and there are no plans for 20" now. But I had interesting conversation with some guy from SAKO. They had TRG M10 in .308 with 16.5" barrel. He said that during testing, they found out that going down from 20" to 16.5" in .308 made no practical difference in effective range and accuracy up to 800m.

I don't understand why they didn't add the G28 rail to this package. It would have added maybe a couple hundred dollars to the cost while making the rifle far more unique.
