Alright, I'm going to admit my ignorance in hopes of learning.

I'm getting ready to send out a BRN-4 for cloning. It's going to mate to a 416 upper with a 10.5" barrel and be built as a pistol.

Which marking do I want on the magwell? I have not clue one what HK416C is, what HK416D is, what HK416Q is, or if maybe just HK416 alone is the best way to go. Thanks in advance for schooling me up and pointing me in the right direction.

I'm going on the HK416D route. I sent mine out to Atomic Engraving. The HK416C is the PDW version of the HK416 the lower has extra holes about the level of the trigger for a device that catches the PDW brace. HK found that it has reliability problems for obvious reasons. The HK416D seems to be the exact same as the HK416 except that is has domestic markings under "Made in Germany." I have no clue what the HK416Q is.

Looks great. Who did your 416N engraving? Do you have pic of the left side?

Fwiw, the Q is the model after the HK416LMNOP
