    Default 416a5 handguard

    https://www.hkparts.net/shop/pc/HKEY...-132p18696.htm

Will it work on an MR556 or vintage 416 upper?
    Own: HK91, SR9, SP5k, G36k, HK416, P30L, 2x P8, 2x P8A1, USP9
Future: Done, until HK comes out with something new & nifty. Might start building an FNH collection.

    Are we sure?

I'm specifically concerned about the sling-loop on the old-school gas block.

Haha! I sure ain't paying a 416 handguard forward.. but if it doesn't work out, you can have first dibs before I post it in the for-sale area! lol

Just so ya know, the tongue and groove on the top mated just fine, but the tongue portion of the rail sits lower. Thus you won't have that flush fit on top (not that it matters at all functionally).

Hmm. Is it just the tongue that sits lower? Or does the whole pic rail on top just sit lower? If its just the tongue, I don't care - but if the whole rail is lower, I'm unlikely to be able to get a good zero with HK sights. That would be a problem.

Just the tongue. Rail lines up fine. My fit was like some of the other rails as of late...a little slop but fine after tightening the cross-bolt...I've been spoiled by the super tight Geissele's.

I figured this is HKPro...home of the "OCD9". Best you find out now.

If the Geissele worked without needing to modify or change the gas block on my AF 416 upper, I'd use that. Been poking around, weighing my options for a FDE quad rail without needing to change the upper all around. If I could find an adjustable gas block for a 10.4", I suppose that would be worth it .. not even sure if that is a thing. I've only ever seen 14.5"+ adjustable, and vented 10.4's.
