Default New Baby Girl, 6lbs. 14oz.

Marvin Pitts from @nefariousarms birthed me yet another beautiful MR556/HK416 Frankengun. MR556 barrel chopped/reprofiled (light SOCOM) with a Surfire Warcomp pinned/welded to 16.1" (total) and nitrided on a HK416 receiver with the barrel extension tab milled off. I built this specifically to have my son get comfortable shooting it. In its heavier configuration the MR/416 has to be benched (he's 7).

As pictured it weighs 7lbs. 3oz., sub-7 without the Micro. The barrel is pretty light but its still heavier than a pencil profile (.720 under the HG). If I remember correctly the Troy HG weighs 4oz. without the QD/handstop. Feels like a toy in comparison!

Functioned flawlessly and grouped nicely yesterday! I've mostly been shooting my stock MR556 competition with a brake so this lighter one (w/Warcomp) had a little more recoil but nothing unmanageable.
@mew , It took me a while to find the handguard. it seems they make them in batches so you just have to sign up for the notifications and eventually you'll get 4-5 emails from different suppliers saying they're in stock.
