Default HK416 Trigger Guard on MR556 HELP!!!!

I recently purchased an actual HK416 curved trigger guard and am having a hard time figuring out how in the world to attach the front part to my MR556. I tried to use the plunger and spring from my MR556 trigger guard but the plunger does not fit tightly and has an extreme amount of wobble. A roll pin will not work because the hole in the front of the trigger guard is larger than the rear and will have an extreme amount of wobble. Any help is greatly appreciated. I may have to put the MR556 back on.........

Where did you get yours? Mine is a German made HK416 trigger guard.

I have had no issues with the curved trigger guard. Is it possible it is some sort of aftermarket one?

I’m trying to help him figure that out.

So here are three types I’ve seen.

German Gun Works was selling these 3 years ago and when they ran out that was it. So I don’t know if they are HK or not. Pretty sure that they are not.

HKParts was selling these, these are Not HK OEM andwere made for the MR and 416D. They have the spring pin installed.

Zib sells these and I believe Zib that these are HK OEM.

HK416 Trigger Guard - new type, H&K Gun parts Heckler Koch

OP’s looks like the Zib one so I’d say it is HK OEM but was bored out to wrong spec.

This would not surprise me as this is all surplus that HK shed as were the Brownells kits. The Brownells kits had stuff out of spec and frankly damaged in some cases.

    I replied to your PM.

It's interesting to see the different types. I have the same one as the last link at German Gun Works in FDE, but I got mine from RKS.

I recall @UMP45Entry having something to say about installing the trigger guard.

I ordered the trigger guard from Zib. The ID of the HK416 where the plunger protrudes on the right side is .14" and the ID of the MR556 where the plunger protrudes in the right side is .12". I suspect that the HK416 front right hole was out of spec. Now trying to get one that is correct spec is the challenge.

Right side of trigger guards with the plunger hole to the right side.

If Im not mistaken both sides are the same on the curved guard because it doesnt use a plunger and is roll pinned in both holes on the A5. I just checked mine an both sizes are the same. So cuttining a pin in half is likely the way to go. If you want to remove it later down the road you can just hit the pin further into the guard. Thats what Im going to look at doing.
