Default Lightening an MR556 Barrel. Good Idea? Any recommendations?

Thinking about lightening my 10.5" SBR Barrel to reduce some more weight.
Has anyone does this and what does everyone think about doing this?

Also, any recommendations and average prices for someone to do this for me?

Nefarius Arms. Had mine chopped to 14.5 and profiled to match a 416. Made a huge difference to the feel of the rifle.

Did you give him any specifics for reprofiling? Or did you just tell him to reprofile per 416 specs?

I sent mine to ADCO with instructions to .72 it, came back perfect and fast. I dont know if theres wisdom to .72 but to my understanding thats 416 profile.

Do you have any pictures? Did it make a difference to your gun weight and feel?

I basically told him to reprofile to 416 specs. I think it's just and M4 profile. Anything to take weight off the gun. It made a huge difference.

He also refinished the barrel with a Melonite/Isonite finish. I think this will make the barrel even more durable.
