So is there a complete HK416 date code list by year and features somewhere on here... I just see bits and pieces but not a complete list.

Well I guess I'm gonna search the interwebs and see if I can put one together.
2005 AE First year of production. Date code on side of reciever, serial # on bottom, heavy profile barrel
2006 AF Most common 416 upper in civilian hands statside - unchanged from first year
2007 AG Introduced the light profile barrel & updated gas block, reciever looks current w/ serial # next to date code
2008 AH Did more over the beach (OTB) upgrades: current style buffer tube w/drain holes & roller bearings, plastic ejection port cover, extractor support lug(pin) on barrel extension, chamber face modifications for different types of ammo, new HK mfg small parts (previously outsourced)
2009 AI Furniture update - stock and grip switch to HK mfg (previously outsourced)
2010 AK Not sure if they did an AJ - never seen one. This was also the general timeframe they impliminted the 'end user agreement' which req a contact between HK, the dept, and the dealer
Esentially cuts off the existing small supply of 416 uppers making there way to civilains via trade in or dealer samples. Dealers cannot get samples and depts cannot give up or trade in there guns via the contract (unless they've fullfiled there imported purpose).
Guns ship directly from HK's bonded warehouses to PD's.
2011 BA Some guns start shipping with a small vent in the gas block for better cycling when suppressed
2013 BC "CIP" marking added to reciever and barrel somewhere around here. I think its just a european safety thing - something to do with pressure testing and overloaded cartiges
2015 BE BE shipping to LE as of 8/16
2016 BF BF shipping to LE as of 6/17
2017+ BF/BG? A5 varient all new - as of now there is a couple dept's using A5's - DC and LAPD are 2 that I know of
But dept orders are still being filled with BF's which are essentially the same as AH/AI with a couple small changes
* Years/date codes are approx
* HK does things in batches/uses up left over parts so some changes were implimented mid-date code
* When talking date codes go off of reciever date code. Barrels are also date coded but are made in larger batches - so on a factory gun the date code on the barrel should be 1-2 years older then the reciever
* Tech info relates to 10" only
A few years ago I wrote down everything that came to mind regarding the 416 timeline and changes I had noticed on uppers. I haven’t looked at it since and couldn’t remember if I posted it or not but figured might as well. Feel free to edit and make changes!
Def, def, definitely 362 tooth picks.
Thanks for the info!!!!!
362 for sure!!
I thought the date codes went something like this, did they not?
A – 0
B – 1
C – 2
D – 3
E – 4
F – 5
G – 6
H – 7
I – 8
K – 9
*(J - only used for mags/parts)
IIRC, all the AK date codes that shipped from Botach were factory vented.
