They put it in the alloy mix when they smelt the metals. 😉

Tom Bostic posted one of these 11"ers on his FB page and noted that while they are #s matching, it does not have an adjustable gas block.

Oh, and also that HK is very pissed these made it into the US lol.

They shouldn't have AGBs; they are MRs not 416A5’s. But if one were to obtain and place a Burk AGB on one they would pretty much have a semi-auto 416A5. Only difference would be that the A5’s AGB is heat sealed onto the barrel.

I can't say I blame them. Look what happened to them with Mexico and just in general how their government hates them and takes every opportunity to make life difficult. I'm sure that's the aspect they are seeing it from, not "we didn't want Americans to have the good stuff".

I suspect the MR223a3 also has the block/tab preventing the full auto bolt so that would need to be removed if you were to use the upper on a registered lower.

The old "German export laws" excuse is really tired. We heard that for 30 years in regards to paddle mag releases and threaded barrels on roller locks. Low and behold, all they needed to do was try.

Besides, they export these to Canada...
