Yes, it has to be engraved.

Barrel, frame or receiver, where it can be seen.

Hey guys. Anymore on this tear issue at the rail attachment? Read thru the thread and saw several but not much feedback about batch codes and such. Did HK recall existing stock to anyone’s knowledge? Or do we know a batch code that it affected?
Gonna go by my shop today and look at it before paying the remaining balance. Maybe I can recitify a potential problem early with dealer involvement.

HK has replaced the guns that exhibit this issue so far. No idea what serial ranges are affected.
So many HKs so little time.

I called HK customer service today 11/15. They said 200 more should be released to distributors in December.

If you wanna sell it. As I understand it doesn't if youre not going to, much like making a firearm from an 80 percent receiver

If you make it, it has to be engraved.

This is completely wrong info, and I really wish people would stop repeating it around the net.

It's right there in the instructions on the ATF Form 1, why this is even debated is beside me.

And your comparison to completely a 80% lower also has zero barring. With a 80% you are not creating a NFA item, and there are laws specifically saying you can legally create a personal Title I firearm without marking it.

So Form 1 SBR no engraving needed is what you're saying?

Can someone refresh my memory? What was the defect with some of the earlier sp5k's? Thanks!
