Good grief! I am quite surprised how expensive the SD kits have become. I bought a front end in 2018 for under $2k so there has been some price appreciation since then.

Thank you very much! That is about the cost I have accounted for to finish the build. It definitely won't be anytime soon. I decided to start with the parts kit as they seem to be harder to obtain than a HK94 at the moment.

I searched around the forums for previous threads to get an idea of what the parts kits would cost. They also seemed within the ballpark of $2500-3000 but that ranged from 2011-2018. There has definitely been some appreciation for sure. I lost my chance to grab a front end for cheaper at GSC but I was a bit hesitant as there is just a stock picture of it so the condition was unknown. The condition of the kit I obtained seemed to be in excellent condition and has an AD date code which is a lot newer than most kits I've seen go for in the past.

The infamous GSC SD front end... a few people, including myself have been trying to get a reply back on that thing for a while now. Fortunately, I found one for less $, with mag well included and no longer need it. Best of luck on your build Psifer!

I could not agree more. Last girlfriend I had could not understand why I would want various HKs. I tried to reason (mistake) but explained that it was just like purses or shoes with different outfits that she had. It did not go well after that!!

Thank you very much! I have burnt myself out of bit with some other hobbies as they took up a lot of my time while still going to school. I have put some on the back burner and focused more on the HK world of firearms. However, I always have a few ideas up my sleeve to keep my hobbies progressing.

Thank you very much and congratulations on your acquisition as well. I know that if I had waited I could acquire just the front end for much cheaper. I have a bit of an issue with instant gratification and don't always have the patience to wait. It sometimes bites me in the ass. I haven't dived into the HK world all that long but I have constantly watched the MP5SD parts kits as it has always been my all-time favorite firearm growing up. Out of all the kits I've seen this one has seemed to be the newest, one of the best conditions, and came with a lot of extras.

Ha! Dang man, you don't mess around! Congrats on winning that sucker. I've had my eye on a TPM P5SD for a while now, but you can't beat the real thing!

Thank you! The quest for a USP9T is definitely on hold now. I have been looking at a Dakota Tactical MP5SD and TPM MP5SD for some time. Although this build will cost much more than either one, I believe that it will hold its value much greater in the long run. I have been wrong in the past but at least no matter if I'm right or wrong I'll still end up with my dream build. My wallet will definitely require some time to recuperate now.
