Question Going to Vegas in April, should I bring my USPc as CCW?

    Hey guys,

I'm going to Vegas for business and have a FL CCW which is honored there. Question is if it's worth it for me to bring my USPc with me. I'm also curious to what are the general practices for CCW there. I know I can't bring it into the casino's obviously, but can I bring it to my hotel room there? I'd like to hit one of vegas' outdoor ranges.

If it's not worth it, I can always rent I guess. :)

Is it worth it to bring your USP? I never travel with any of my guns but to each his own.

I have never been to any outdoor ranges in Southern Nevada, I have always heard there is at least one but with miles and miles of open desert, it is is hard to pay the fee and have to deal with all the range rules. it is Legal to shoot in the desert North and South of town.
If you are staying on the Strip, South is you best bet. Half way between Sloan and Jean Nevada on the East side of the I-15.

There are also a few indoor ranges if you like.

I guess indoor range it is then. I know there's a lot of hype about the las vegas gunstore... is it worth it?

I'd be interested in clay shooting if there are any around there as well...

Not to be rude BUT I checked the Clark County Code for Discharging a firearm (12.04.230) no where in there its states it is illegal "anywhere" in Clark County. However it does give all the sections you can not shoot.

    Here is the link

Look under Title 12 for the code

Or maybe I'm not looking in the right place!!!!!!

    Default clark county

i used to shoot in the valley, literally would drive out from my house about two miles out into the desert. i have been told it is now not legal to shoot in the valley. its my understanding that yo have to be 1000 meters from the nearest building or paved road in order to shoot. 10 years ago it was easy to do that. the valley has homes stretching almost to the edges now so its hard to find a spot in the valley to shoot safely anyways. So the ranges which, i dont care for, are the best bet in the valley until the new range opens (if it ever does). my friends i I drive about 20 miles out of town to a place we like to shoot. there seems to be a lot of bones heads who hang out at the normal places so we try to avoid them.

carry in Casinos is not illegal, they can however request that you leave the property if they see you have one. I worked at Bellagio for years and that was the policy. was pretty fun when the gun collectors convention was is in town lol. a lot of collectors would stay there. unless something has changed schools, gov buidings, police stations (for the most part), etc are off limits to concealed weps.

I was shooting with a buddy off the left hand side of Las Vegas Bld, outside the Valley on a Saturday mourning. He wanted to try some full auto stuff. I have a Vollmer built converted 94 with a Fleming sear, a Rewatt Savage built M1A1 Thompson, and a DIAS. A Metro SUV pulled up. The officer, on his loud speaker, asked us to unload the firearms and step back from the truck. He got out and confirmed that the firearms were unloaded. He then asked for my Form 4s and blue cards for my hand guns. I had brought my Mark 23 with my SWR HEMS II can and Beretta 92FS.

Once he determined the firearms were registered, he became very friendly. I offered to have him try anything I had. He didn't want to, but he did ask if he could take some pictures. He said that that was the largest group of legal firearms he had come across while on duty. He said that Metro patrolled out there because they had found felons practicing. Once he heard the full auto fire, he headed right over to investigate. I would imagine that if it were illegal to shoot there, I would have gotten a ticket.
